Masterstepz is undoubtedly one of the most pioneering DJs of UK Garage. With his much coveted residency at Smoove, Ministry of Sound which he has achieved due to his dedication to the genre and his incredible capacity for getting a crowd frenzied and in a state of irate appreciation with his raw cutting and hype mixing technique.
He also mixed the compilation REAL GARAGE/ AYIA NAPA in 2001 on the Ministry of Sound label.
This is backed by his daily show at Choice FM where he is ambassador of youth urban music, UK Garage being his area of expertise with a smattering of Hip Hop, R&B and Reggae thrown in to keep it original.
His history is exceptional and his portfolio is a journey through radio, club nights, studios & a huge number of countries where he has gained unlimited experience and expertise of what we call the “urban music” phenomenon today.
He started out at the age of 16 playing in Clubs like Le Bells, Oasis and Bel Air, he was also part of a Sound System called King Tubbys who were based in Brixton, South London. From there he went on to presenting on a South London Pirate Station called Lightning FM. A music course saw his step into music production, combining his skill of mixing records on turntables with providing the tracks to be mixed.
This has seen him release a single with Kele le Roc, remix R.U. Ready feat. Richie and also his own productions to include – “Melody” with remixes for “Sounds of Blackness” & Precious Devonte & Tonta Metro, again Kele Le Roc & Zena.
His show that is aired daily includes the full urban spectrum and guests have included Christina Milian, Ashanti, Ludacris, City High, So Solid, JD, Audley Harrison, Richard Blackwood, Ashley Cole & Rio Ferdinand.
If he is not at the Choice Fm studio or at his own studio he can be found across the UK and Europe with sets that have included Sun City - Adrenalin Village, Liberty – Coliseum, Twice as Nice, Rags to Riches, Exposure, Garage Nation, Garage Heaven, Lords of the Underground, Horny (legends), Club Ten (resident).
